End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday February 6, 2019

It’s another week on End Credits, your friendly neighbourhood film criticism show that’s happy and not pretentious at all. Speaking of pretentious, we get into the snooty art world of Velvet Buzzsaw this week. We also get into the mind of a Hollywood master of transformation, and we get into the minds of the people running the DC movie universe. We also talk about the world of streaming, and whether Netflix is evil, or at least Canadian evil. Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday February 6, 2019”

End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday January 23, 2019

This week on End Credits, we get back to our regularly schedule program. Our new movie review is the hotly anticipated superhero movie that doesn’t come from a previously established extended universe. Meanwhile, in the news, an extended universe makes a comeback, we have two docs about the same topic, some film rating news, and we discuss the ying-yang career of the director of this week’s review subject, Glass.

End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday November 7, 2018

We will rock you on this week’s End Credits! Yes, we are bringing you our review of the new musical bio-pic Bohemian Rhapsody, but we can’t promise that we’ll be your best friend by the end of it because of our opinions. Enough Queen puns! We’ll also be talking about Netflix’s Oscar hopes, a new Gladiator and a new Game of Thrones series, but the sad death of a film streaming service. Guess they weren’t the champions… Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday November 7, 2018”

End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday May 30, 2018

This week on End Credits we will reveal the origin of the show’s name, how the entire crew came together, why we have our various affectations, and how we found the CFRU studios. Perhaps this metaphor gives you an idea of our opinion of the new Star Wars movie we’re reviewing this week. We’ll also talk about a new new Star Wars movie in the works, the next James Bond film, the next Michael Bay flick, and the next Jeffrey Tambor scandal. Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday May 30, 2018”

End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday March 28, 2018

This week on End Credits, we deal with the culture clash, and not just one culture clash, but many culture clashes. We got Hollywood wanting Chinese cash clashing with China wanting to keep their own cash. We’ve got a very famous director clashing with the changing face of the movie business. And we’ve got time clashing with the fact we’re getting older. Most importantly, our movie of the week might be clashing with itself, not to mention the dreaded “A” word considering our woke time when we talk about culture. End Credits Show Notes for Thursday February 22, 2018

This week, End Credits gets back into superhero mode! After a long three month drought without any capes and powers, we get back into the swing of things with a movie that’s definitely gong to break a few barriers, Black Panther. In the news, we’ll talk about a superhero director that’s not having such a good time, a legendary director that’s got cashflow issues, and a documentary director that’s having politics interfere with his potential awards glory. Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Thursday February 22, 2018”

End Credits Show Notes for Thursday October 5, 2017

The impossible is finally happening this week on End Credits. For instance, we’ll review a Tom Cruise movie where everyone’s favourite self-serve stuntman finds himself in a role where he’s not on cruise control (pun intended). In the news, a certain sequel series finally begins production, although the jury’s still out for cynics as to whether or not we’ll ever see it, and Netflix may be home to the new Beachcombers, or a similarly appropriate piece of TV Canadiana. Finally, more bad news if you’re hoping that we’ve finally reached the bottom of the harassment barrel.  Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Thursday October 5, 2017”

End Credits Show Notes for Thursday August 17, 2017

For the next couple of weeks on End Credits, we’re going to play catch-up on some indie hits from the summer, and we’re starting with the vexingly unconventional haunted house drama A Ghost Story, which will surely generate some strong opinions from the panel. In the news, we’ll talk about how the House of Mouse is considering its next phase of global domination, whether Judd Apatow has the answer to solve movie comedy, and whether Titanic remains unsinkable after almost two decades.  Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Thursday August 17, 2017”

End Credits Show Notes for Thursday July 27, 2017

Disasters is kind of theme this week on End Credits. The movie of the week is about a military disaster, snatching victory out of the jaws of total and complete military annihilation, and to kick things off we look at another movie that turned out to be a disaster and the new movie being made about that. In between, we’ll ask some serious questions about the nature of Comic Con and the nature of the future of movies.  Continue reading “End Credits Show Notes for Thursday July 27, 2017”
