End Credits Show Notes for Wednesday October 14, 2026 (Episode #461)

This week on End Credits, you know how this looks, right? On this show, we’re going to dig into the movie for the moment, which is about a 20-year-old TV show and starring one our most versatile actors. Yes, it’s time for Primetime, and along with that one, we will go back in time for another audacious movie that is also based on a true story!

This Wednesday, October 14, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Peter Salmon will discuss:

Marie Antoinette at 20! For her third film, Sofia Coppola told the story of the last Queen of France, a woman made famous by her avarice and spending, and her dismissal of the concerns of France’s poor with an anachronistic catchphrase. Marie Antoinette wasn’t a big hit when it came out in 2006, but it’s one of those movies that people have come around to in the last two decades. So as Marie Antoinette turns 20, we will talk about what we missed the first time.

REVIEW: Primetime (2026). In the aughts, there was a show called To Catch a Predator, where journalist Chris Hansen confronted potential pedophiles lured to idyllic suburban settings through online chats and IMs. The phenomenon has been captured in the new film from Lance Oppenheim and starring Robert Pattinson. In Primetime, Pattinson plays Hansen who descends into a heart of darkness as the real struggle to safeguard children meets his desire for fame, fortune and legitimacy, and in the process they might have created the film that best explains our times. But is it good?

End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.
